Cookies Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They're used for things like keeping your shopping cart contents between pages, remembering preferences, and measuring how people use a site.

What we use

We use a minimal set of cookies. Here's what's actually running on hikiens.com:

Shopping cart (session cookie): Keeps your cart items while you browse. This is stored in your browser's localStorage — it disappears when you clear browser storage. No server-side session is created just from browsing.

Analytics (optional): If we add analytics in future, we'll update this page and ask for your consent before setting any tracking cookies.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not share cookie data with third parties.

How to manage cookies

You can clear cookies and localStorage in your browser settings at any time. In Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data. In Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.

Clearing your cart storage will empty your shopping cart.

Changes

If we add cookies we'll update this policy before doing so. Last updated: February 2026.

What cookies we set

Essential cookies only: we set a session cookie called hikiens_cart in localStorage (not a traditional cookie, but equivalent in function) to store your cart contents between pages. This is deleted when you clear your browser storage. We set hikiens_cookies to remember your consent choice so we don't show the banner on every visit. Neither stores any personally identifiable information.

We do not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar service. If you use a browser extension that reports cookies, you may see cookies set by your browser itself or security extensions — these are not set by us.

Third-party cookies

We use FormSubmit.co to handle contact form submissions. When you submit a form, FormSubmit processes your data to forward the email to us. FormSubmit may set its own cookies or processing records. We have no control over these. See FormSubmit's privacy policy at formsubmit.co for details. We do not embed social media widgets or use any content delivery networks that set third-party cookies.

Managing your cookie preferences

You can withdraw consent or change your cookie settings at any time by clicking "Manage settings" in the cookie banner. You can also delete stored data by clearing your browser's localStorage: in Chrome or Firefox, open Developer Tools, go to Application > Local Storage, and delete the hikiens.com entries. Most browsers also allow you to block cookies entirely — this will prevent the cart from working between pages.
