What we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, delivery address, email, and phone number. If you contact us by email we keep a copy of that correspondence. We do not store card numbers — payments handled by invoice or bank transfer are processed directly between you and your bank.
We also collect standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) through our hosting provider. This is automatic and we use it to monitor site performance, nothing else.
Why we collect it
Order data is used to fulfil and deliver your purchase and to communicate about it. We keep financial records for seven years as required by UK law. Contact data is used to respond to you.
We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to how we use it. Email info@hikiens.com with any of these requests. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you think we've handled your data badly.
Data retention
Order data is kept for seven years. Contact correspondence is deleted after two years unless you're an active customer. Server logs are kept for 90 days.

Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances, object to processing of your data, and request that we restrict how we use your data while a dispute is being resolved. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@hikiens.com with your name and the nature of your request. We will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would prefer you contact us first so we have an opportunity to address your concern.
Data retention
We keep order records for 7 years to meet HMRC requirements. Email addresses collected for order purposes are not used for marketing without your separate consent. Browsing data collected via essential cookies (session and cart data) is deleted when you close your browser or after 30 days of inactivity.
Third parties
We use FormSubmit.co to process contact and order form submissions — your data is passed to their servers to forward email to us. We do not use any advertising networks, social tracking pixels, or analytics services that share your data with third parties for profiling purposes. Our site is hosted in the UK/EU. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll update this page and note the date below. Significant changes may also be communicated by email if you have an account or recent order with us. This policy was last updated February 2026.
